Overview

Berkshire Hathaway Automotive (BHA) is seeking an up-and-coming SEO copywriter who might be new to the game but has the desire to hone their skills and perfect their craft as a writer. BHA provides advertising and marketing services to over 80 automotive dealerships nationwide, and we’re looking for someone who has excellent writing, editing, creative and analytical skills, along with a keen eye for detail and precision. You’ll be involved in producing high-quality Search Engine Optimized (SEO) copy for the web, e-newsletters, press releases, print and other media.

 

Our writers must have exceptional research skills, be willing to engage in and contribute to brainstorming sessions, and write strong, persuasive copy on tight deadlines. We hate to use the term “self-starter,” but it’s essential at BHA. We need writers who are willing to jump into the fray and not be afraid to come up with tantalizing copy that engages our readers and leaves them begging for more.

Responsibilities

    • Write copy for all interactive products:
      • e-newsletters
      • Custom web pages
      • Social media marketing
      • This position assists in the development of measurable, integrated, interactive campaigns and products that help BHA dealerships achieve their advertising goals and strategic marketing plans
      •  Copywriters will report to the Digital Marketing Manager and Senior Copywriter

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent writing and analytical skills
  • A basic knowledge of SEO and SEO-best practices, including meta-data, titles, H# tags, Alt= tags, and schema mark-up
  • Understand writing “semantically” to influence search engine indexing for voice search and knowledge graph results
  • Must be a creative thinker
  • Strong attention to detail and be able to perform research with an eye for what’s trending in the automotive world
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • A willingness to become Google Analytics certified

 

Education:

  • B.A. in English, Journalism, Digital Marketing or Communications
